History of the School for Innovators
The first School for Innovators was held in Midland, Texas, in 1988. It has always been a "school
without walls" -- held wherever the most energy can be brought together. Since the first School,
some 26 subsequent versions have been offered, each one unique and distinct from its predecessors.
The design of the School progressed rapidly from three days to five days, and then to a full week-long
intense format (7:30am-10:00pm daily or later). Several variations have been developed to meet a
variety of requests: Two-stage and three-stage curriculums spread out over two months have been
developed for several companies, tailored to their specific requirements, and planning for an
executive level School for Innovators is underway.
In 1993 the School began to operate along Thinking Expedition lines with great success.
